Doing homework in a
shack in Georgia
Between my campus lectures
I often visit this family in a small town near South
Carolina. The shack had four rooms, each full of beds for
the 24 children.
The photo was taken in 1992 and shortly after the shack
burned down in one of
the common stove fires.
