My flight behind Stars and stripes



A minute after this picture I was arrested by the Secret Service. With a shorthair wig I had managed to sneak inside the Republican Convention without a press pass in order to demonstrate against president Nixon. An Australian friend and I unfolded a huge banner in front of the world press with “Nixon napalms babies” during the president’s speech. I managed to flee behind the giant flags, but my running caused a wave in the flags, which the Secret Service could follow with their eyes. So when I reappeared in the other end of the convention hall, a great warm reception waited me.
