My photos have been shown in many art exhibitions in European museums, most recently in Cortona, Italy. Or see “Faith, hope and love” at MoMa Louisiana. Read how Aurthur Jafa was inspired by my photos. Read the story behind each photo on Instagram. See my entire gallery of +20,000 photos from many countries here.
Keeping in touch with the people I photographed in the 70’s, I have now updated my old photo book which was never published in England, France and other countries with big minority populations. 50 years of my work on racism and oppression is now covered in “The Ghetto in our Hearts” soon to be published.
After the Reagan years I witnessed a rapidly growing gap in America. But inequality is not as easy to portray in individual photos as in my multi-media show below. Wait for it to load.
Vagabonding for 6 years in USA 1970-1975 with a cheap camera selling blood plasma twice weekly to finance film. Then social activist and lecturer for 40 years. After 2006 European museums started exhibiting my photos as documentary art photography.
