Ida and Joe have lived together most of their lives far out on the back roads in Alabama's dense forest where hardly anybody knows them. I first met them when I bicycled to get around the forest and they have over the years become some of my dearest friends. They loved when “the picture man” brought Scandinavian friends or multimillionaires like Anita Roddick with me on my visits. They also appeared in several Danish Tv-documentaries until Ida’s death around 2005.
