Now in
it's FOURTH
year, Salaam
Shalom
Pesach
brings
together
Jews,
Muslims,
Christians,
Buddhists,
Atheists,
and those who cross all these categories, to celebrate together the Jewish holiday of Pesach, or Passover.
This year was especially unique because our Pesach was hosted at the Mariam Mosque in central Copenhagen.
The Mariam Mosque is a female-led mosque which places a special focus on inspiring and empowering
women from all communities.
The Jewish holiday of Pesach is a holiday about Freedom. We celebrate it in this way to express that we wish for
freedom for everybody, no matter which culture or faith. Our wish is for freedom from the borders that divide us.
We invited people from all and any background to share with us this evening, which will consist of eating,
drinking, and singing songs from the "Haggadah" (the book from which we read that tells the story of Pesach).
