You have arrived!

The star of Bethlehem led you to our family's 71st great grandfather - Emperor Augustus - who very much helped cause the birth of Jesus in a manger - and whose name will forever be associated with the spirit of Christmas:

Luke 2:1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem;

Altarpiece from Løgumkloster church in which my great-great grandfather served as a pastor. That our own 71st great grandfather helped stage this scene which forever gave Jesus a "poverty image" was a moving genealogical discovery.

Also see here another famous person in our family tree - our 64th great-grandfather, Herod the Great - who "dramatically changed the life of Jesus". Trying to kill their newborn, he forced Joseph and Mary to flee to Egypt. Herod's son - our 63rd great-grand uncle Herod Antipas - years later helped stage the execution of Jesus (Luke 23,12).
However, had not our 3rd cousin 62 times removed - king Herod Agrippa II (see Acts 26) - on the verge of being converted by Saint Paul actually saved Paul's life, certainly I and the rest of Christianity would not have been Christian today. So the Roman branch of our family also did something good!!!
